I see some people clicked on to my blog and realised i hadnt put anything up for a while. i apologise for that. Have been busy getting a better system of emails to people so it is easier to see and manage. Would really appreciate feed back on the system of emails.
I am an Aged Care student in Albury NSW. I am enjoying it so much I've sent off an enrolment application to do a Nursing degree. I'll be 50 when I finish the degree. It's scary that there are insufficient carers for the future. Having been an administration/business manager for 24 years I feel I have a lot to offer the health sector. I'm glad I found your blogspt, I'll refer to it more in the future. Kathy
I have been working in aged care since 1974. Have been a Charge Nurse, Owner & Manager of Aged Care Residential facilities. Have written two books on Aged Care, Life's an Illusion and The Art of Caregiving. Currently arrange up-skilling programms for Registered Nurses, Management training and inservice education in aged care facilities. I have 17 programmes I teach currently. My passion is to help people really understand the care they provide/give. To understand the privilege it is when someone allows us to look after their every need and it should never be taken for granted. Our role is to help people be the best they can be and when they leave this world, they make a peaceful transition. Each person has a particular journey to take and it is not up to any individual to criticise or judge a person for the choices they make, the path they have chosen or the experiences or misfortunes that may happen to them. This blog is a forum for all people who have an interest in the elderly to ask questions, to make comment and to reach out for support. Please feel free to share your knowledge and experience or to ask for answers to your queries.
